I'm a new developer and I want to advertise my new app. How many of you use admob to promote your app? Do you think admob is very effective or do you use another method to advertise your app? I'm just starting out so I don't have a huge amount of funds to spend and I like the feature that allows me to put a daily cap on how much I spend. I'm a little concerned with Admob though because I read that google is killing admob. Thought?

    Thanks

I'd stay away from Admob from now, at least until it becomes clearer what Google intends to do with them. Seems they are going to move all mobile advertising into Adsense and making the move a short time after you begin would probably be a hassle.

This is NOT true. Mobile advertising via in-app ads will still be handled via AdMob, but Mobile website advertising will be handled through AdSense.

With all of this misconception, I am surprised Google hasn't cleared it up yet.
