My daughter is going on a trip for the next week and half so I want to get her a Verizon smartphone. Verizon is a being a butt about letting me upgrade early from her dumbphone to an iphone (what she really wants). Anyway, I have found an incredible here locally for $200 (asking price, no haggling yet) and was wondering what the going rate for a used DInc is? The add says the phone is 7 months old, no scratches or dings, perfect working order and will meet me at the Verizon store to verify it is good for activation. What questions should I ask, what should I look for and what is a good price? Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

That seems a bit high, but not outrageously so. I'd say the going price for a good one is around $160, but I did absolutely no research into that number. Also, keep in mind that prices vary alot based on location.

$160 is a pretty good price if the phone is in good condition. I would get him to lower it if it didn't come with the stock charger or any accessories. The Incredible is still one of the better phones on Verizon in spite of its age. Battery life is the Incredible's main downfall, so make sure you get an extra battery if your daughter plans on using it often. They can be had for as little as $5 from Amazon.

I recently bought an incredible off ebay for $180, I'd say $200 is reasonable for a phone in known condition, but I would try to get him down a little. Great phone, I wouldn't trade it for an iphone.

Thanks for the replies and advice. The seller would not budge on price. Funny thing is, they've had the phone listed for over a month. Anyway, I'll keep looking. Time is running out, but I don't want to overpay or just "grab" something.

I'd rather have an incredible than an iPhone also, but the women in my life do not necessarily share the same the view. If I can run across a used iPhone for a reasonable price (not likely), I'll grab that. She may end up having to leave with her dumbphone and I express her a new phone. But, that's my fault for waiting until the last minute to look. Again, thanks for the help!

Make sure it has a clean ESN if buying off craigslist. A lot of people stop paying their bill and then try to make a few bucks off "their" phone. If this is the case Verizon locks the ESN and it won't work. Many sellers don't know or don't care.

I paid $150 in Austin, TX for one that was like new in the box. The prices around here are well under 150 for a bad esn and 150-200 for clean ones. The ones on Craigslist north of about 175 sit there while the ~150 ones in good condition seem to sell quickly.

I recently picked up an incredible in really good condition with an amoled screen for $125 from someone on this website. It came with the original battery, the extended 2150 battery and cover and a car charger. I'm well aware that I got an absolutely awesome deal, but you should be able to find one yourself in the $150 range fairly easily.

I got my dinc a couple weeks ago from a guy on craigslist for 100 bucks. I'm glad I got it too. I like it more than the X that I have in my sock drawer. I'm new to and now hooked in HTC Sense.

I'd pay as high as $180 for AMOLED, perfect.

I wouldn't pay $200 on a used Incredible as there are many deals out there that could be had. But if you are in a hurry, I guess you will pay what you feel is right for you.
