After 2.0.1 update Phone Portal and network stops working

My phone has updated to the 2.0.1 update a few days ago and since then have had loads of problems with the droid

Firstly the phone portal doesnt work any more. I can open it up but when I press the play button nothing happens. It just stays stuck on the play button.

Secondly, when I check my phone at random times in the day I keep seeing an exclamation mark in the top left and all phone signal and wifi is gone. If I try and scan for networks it says "Error scanning for networks" and I have to reboot.

Any ideas on how these could be fixed or am I going to have to reset the phone? If so are there any backup apps anyone can recommend?
