...what do I need to restore in order to get back my email settings, user dictionary, desktop arrangements/themes etc?

I've tried restoring the logical choices but they don't seem to return.

    Cheers.

Homescreens doesnt always work. Email settings would be data on your email app. User dictionary would be data on your keyboard app.

Themes? What themes? How did you install them?

Oops! My mistake! I meant "scenes" rather than themes.

So do I just need to restore the data for the email app and keyboard app rather than the whole app?

Also, when restoring apps, do they automatically show up in the market as my downloaded apps and let me know there is an update when I access the market? Or do I need to do something to enable this?

Do I need to reboot in order for the above to take effect?

I think so for email and keyboard.

Theres an option in titanium preferences " Market link - When backing up an app, save its market link"

if pro, there is also menu>more>market doctor.

Always worth rebooting after a restore.

    Not sure about scenes tbh.

    Cheers mate.

    Thanks for that.

I've just flashed LeeDroid 2.4.1 which obviously comes with several apps which were on 2.3d.

If I restore the apps and data, what will happen? Will I end up with two of the same app on the phone? Just curious.

Are you not restoring "missing apps with data"? That only restores apps that are missing and their data.

If you restore all apps and data, the apps will be over written.

I would suggest that you restore missing apps with data then manually set up the remaining apps.

    Thanks mate.

I've managed to restore my bookmarks and user dictionary. They return if I restore the "data" alone and reboot.

I can't manage to restore my hotmail email account though. I can restore it, but I keep being prompted to set up an email account when I click on the Mail icon.

When I enter my email address and password it says an account already exists.

However, when I restore the app and data, it works nicely? Any harm in doing that? Or would it be safer to enter all the settings manually?

I would enter them manually initially. Hotmail is a bit dodgy though. Good luck !
