Hey Is there a way to set say a ringtone or song clip as the sound that goes off for your alarm or is it just the basic 5 or 6 options that you can only choose from?

Make a folder on your SD card called "alarms" and put desired tone in said folder.

Or you can use ringdroid to edit the tone and it can automatically save it to the correct folder for you (i.e. it will create it).

On HTC Hero, can any1 explain Y my alarm does not sound at all when set. All sounds work elsewhere, and the phone is not mute. Vibrate functions, but no alarm sounds.

Pretend like you are changing your alarm tone and raise the volume.

Also make sure you aren't killing the clock if you use a task killer.
