I'm almost positive its a bad battery, but I would take the phone into a corporate store and have them give you a brand new phone.

Are you using the proper charger? When my wife got her phone we tried using the charger that came with our bluetooth headset since she left the LG one at work. Well it charged at first, but after a few days it would not charge any more, battery got hot, and we thought it was the phone/battery. Bought a USB cable, plugged it into a computer and a few hours later, everything was right as rain. No problems since.

My phone takes a long time to charge as well. I'm not sure if it's something to be concerned about or not.

My phone used to take like 5 hours to charge but after letting the battery drain completely 3 times in a row I get about 35-40% an hour now
