I just recently flashed CM7 and modded all the settings and already I see an upated build 149. Will I retain all the settings/data after the update? And is it going to be the same process of flashing the updated ROM through CWM recovery?

I've never flashed the nightlies, but I presume you can just flash over the top and you'll retain all settings etc.

You'll need to flash the LorDmod Kernel afterwards too though.

Right, and what are the differences between nightlies and this one?

Nightlies are experimental from the developer, that one is a stable release :)

I expect so, probably just the nightly has experimental features or something, the stable release has most of the bugs out I'm guessing :)

The nightlies often have features missing from even RC1. The big one that springs to mind is that they are now based on 2.3.5.

They are never too different, so I usually don't wipe. However, every few weeks I wipe whilst updating, since getting a fresh start minimises your chances of having problems.

It pays to check out the reviews on them though. There were a few this week with battery drain issues that I avoided flashing.

So far so good, almost 8 hours usage after full charge with quite some time spent on using differents apps and still I see about 55% battery left. Guess the Lordmod kernel really does the trick :p

Did you undervolt your kernel as well?

No, just tweaked the max frequency. Would it improve battery life too?

Could do, best to start off small though see if it's stable then go lower.

You just flash them on CWM as you did the kernel, don't wipe any caches before hand though.

Yeah, although I don't know by how much. Essentially you're providing the phone less power to do the same ammount of work.

I just tried all of the undervolting scripts right away, since you know if its stable after a few minutes. Just check in setcpu that the processor has used each frequency allowed and then you know you're good.

Keep the reset script handy though, in case the phone does crash ;)

Does anyone know when will the FINAL and ULTIMATE version is going to come out for CM7 Nightlies? Because I am holding back for now as whenever I plan to update my CM7 version, a new one is already out!

There won't be. They'll keep releasing the nightlies to try out new features or tweaks for their next stable build.

If you want a stable build, you're probably best flashing 7.1.0 RC1. I've had it on for a fortnight or so and it's at least as stable as 7.0.3.

As Xyro mentioned, there are certain things from the nightlies missing in RC1 so you may lose certain features if you flash 7.1.

LorDmods works with it, so you can flash that too.

If you undervolt, let us know how far you get, the lowest I've been able to manage is -50mV. I tried the UUV last night and my phone kept locking :\
