Alps Iphone 5 clone mt6517 unrootable :(

Ive been at it all day but i cant get my phone to root, ive tried tons of rootprograms but they all failed and the 2 that were actually tested with my phone also didnt work (shuame and SRS tooL) it is always unable to make backups or copy stuff and i never get the screen restore on my phone screen, my phone is connected in debugging mode.

It runs android 4.1.2 and i can dl apps from the playstore.

If any1 could help me with this i would be grateful

I too have this phone and have been working on how to get it rooted. I will post my solution when I find it.

My advice, look for something cashed movile uncle tools or something like that...it helped me on the W007... I even have cwm on that phone now!

and if its no much to asking a couple of pictures. to compare. i have a little big problem with mine

You can try Unlockroot . I was able to root mine with it.

Something to bare in mind as this is a generic rooting tool, so when trying to root counterfeit iPhones, or pretty much counterfeit anything. It's very often an unknown and you're taking a big chance. Three things could happen:

1) It roots it successfully, and you're happy.
2) It doesn't work at all, and you're not so happy.
3) It irreparably corrupts and bricks your phone, and you're extremely unhappy.

I have been able to successfully root this phone with SP Flash tool. If anyone is still interested, I can find the link to the tutorial. (its pretty complex).

Hi guys, I have the same device. How were you able to install the USB drivers? Because when I plugged in my device it detects as "Unknown Device" in the USB Category. I've tried a bunch of MTK 65xx drivers, ADB drivers, Install from disk (.inf file), even tried Pda.Net but still can't install the usb drivers.
