How do you copy text from the body of emails you have received?

Cart figure it out for the life of me :s

Useful for capturing phone numbers and addresses in emails.

    Thanks in advance.

I use the old fashioned way of putting pen to paper and writing as I haven't got a clue either. :)

Don't think you can, can you?

Glad to not just be a dim! I know that when a phone number is recognised it becomes clickable but I frequently get international numbers in a variety of formats and none got short cutted :(

Anyone else figured it out? It would also useful for quoting specific lines of emails.

I'm not sure either :( Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember some forum members in other threads complaining about not being able to have proper copy/paste function with Android...

There is no ability to copy from the email body when viewing it in the Gmail app. If you really need to copy something, you'll have to use the mobile website. It's an oversight I hope they fix. Also I'd like proper zoom implementation. But it's still the best way to read and reply to Gmail on a phone in my opinion.

    I don't have a N1 anymore... but I think I used to do this...

Open the email... hit "Reply" and in the composition area, the text from the email should be quoted for your reply. Just copy text to the clipboard from that area. Discard your reply when done.
