Okay, so I was kinda bored so I decided to go to an adult site on my Samsung Galaxy S6 with 6.0.1, unrooted and the option turned off for apps outside of google play(idk sorry if we can't talk about that) and went to PHub. I wasn't sure if I wanted to risk it since I haven't visited this type of site in about 1.5 years but decided it was worth it. At first the site wouldn't play the video when I clicked on it because of adblockplug for the Samsung Internet Browser(red flag to just go) so I unblocked the site but as soon as I did that it redirected me to a couple more sites other than PH. I panicked since my mobile antivirus didn't redirect me and I hit the back button but it took me more than 12 times just to get back to the original google engine. I did a scan with both Avast mobile security and Malwarebytes and they both came up clean, so I then factory reset my phone and repeated the process and nothing came up. Should I be worried or am I extremely paranoid?? I wouldn't be as worried by I read about the new kernel vulnerability that affects android devices and my phone isn't patched for April yet. I also contacted avast and they said that the 4.0 browser isn't supported with web protection for galaxy s6's.

I think you took care of any issue pretty well so I wouldn't be too worried. As for paranoia, today's Internet in general has become very hazardous for any online activity so it requires at least some vigilance on your part. Porn sites get blamed for a lot of ills but you're just as likely to have something compromise your web browser visiting a typical bargain coupon site. The Chicago Tribune site is basically non-functional unless you allow it to put third-party cookies into your browser. Forbes.com gives you deceptive messages about ad-blockers but is actually forcing you to allow tracking cookies to be installed. So just careful but at the same time don't convince yourself not to visit certain sites for whatever reason. There's no point in having your phone if you don't use it. If anything, use the Private Browsing or Incognito Mode on your browser so the cache and cookies get dumped when you quit the app.

I agree, I always use Chromes Incognito Mode when going to "questionable" sites...

Uh, incognito mode doesn't help or work that way. It won't protect you from malicious sites that download and install stuff onto your devices.

I've been a little more cautious on what sites to visit on my phone since its a new experience for me, even though PH and some other sites seem pretty reliable. I know that any site can pose a risk since but it's true that I need to enjoy my phone and I haven't really be doing that. Do you think it's better to use the chrome browser with antivirus or stick with the Samsung Internet 4.0 with adblockplus when browsing websites?
