Seems like there are a ton of threads lately on the problems people are having with ICS. Just wondering if anyone else besides me is loving it??

Absolutely smooth performance and after almost three weeks, no problems at all.

    Here are some Quadrant scores:

    Gingerbread 2.3.6

    Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3

As you can see, just as fast as both the HTC One X and One S. Shows the power of the 'older' Exynos.

    AnTuTu Benchmarks:

    Gingerbread 2.3.6

    Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3

I've not done quadrant tests etc. as I think they are pretty much pointless. I go on how the device is perceived to me, and I agree with you, ICS seems to be very slick and smooth now. I'm not sure if this is down to ICS getting better, Siyah getting better or a combination of the two. It is even very smooth in homescreens and app drawer when power saving mode is enabled. This was never the case for me on GB.
Battery life is on a par with GB for me now too, so I'm a happy bunny!

I've also turned on 2D Hardware Acceleration in the Developer Options. Seems to further smooth things out a bit with scrolling, etc.

I love ICS also. Every thing is fast and smooth. The only thing is turning on 2D Hardware Acceleration causes nothing but issues and force closes for me. When set to off, everything is great.

I've had very little problems with the ICS update.
It seems smooth, fast and stable.
Now the battery has settled down it's also extremely good on battery as well.

Much better than GB for me :)

Edit : well it was great till I turned on 2D acceleration then after a few minutes started locking up.
Leave that option alone I guess ;-)

    I hate you all :(

I yet to get the update in Malaysia. Best part is Samsung won't even entertain over the phone or via e-mail any ICS related questions.
And what's even worse, few weeks ago they roll it out in Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia and Bangladesh, but not in Malaysia.

I mean... seriously ? Nepal and Bangladesh ? Roll it out to the whole of ...5 customers ? If any of you ever been to Nepal or Bangladesh, will understand my confusion.... To the rest who are not familiar with those exotic locations, the last time I was there (year ago), they still had cassette players in stores.

Broken heart.... I can't wait to install the Nova Launcher....

I love ICS... shhh I have a GNex.

Quadrant is quadrant. Some people care, most don't.

As long as your device runs like butter, the Androidians are happy!

Odd, which build are you running?? I am running:

    Android Version:
    4.0.3

    Baseband Version:
    I9100XXLPS

    Kernel Version:
    3.0.15-I9100XWLP7-CL340913 dpi@DELL134#3

    IML74k.XWLP7

Been running with 2D Acceleration on for the past few days without any problems.

Sorry if this is a stupid ques but I am in Canada, with Telus and have a Galaxy Sii X. Still waiting on the Ice Cream update but I am curious for those that already had the update: how did you know it was ready to update? Did U get a msg from your carrier? Does it show up when U connect the phone to the computer through Kies?

I go to Phone Details and there isn't anything that asks to check for updates.

    I don't see the one-x or one-s on there?!

Anyway, I'd say that after the update I'm a bit.. meh. Some of it looks nicer but Gingerbread was already smooth and lovely for me so I can't see any difference in performance - apart from the fact that my phone is noticeably slower to open emails.

They aren't on the list, but they average around 4500-4900 on Quadrant tests.

Mate - you need to understand, it is easy to roll out updates in Nepal as the companies there are mostly affiliated with companies in India. So if India gets it Nepal will get it too. Also there is hardly any carrier customisation in Nepal. People tend to buy their phone outright. I agree with small number but i guess for Samsung it was just an easy win.

    I upgraded 5 days ago.
    At first - brilliant.
A few hours later it started getting hot and running jerky.
I did a factory reset and reinstalled everything.
Now it runs great and battery life seems to be getting better.
My only gripe is the occasional reboot happening - but it did that on 2.3.6 anyway.
Also Firefox Beta runs buggy on ICS and the new Aurora is buggy too.

ICS isn't available OTA (over the air) .........you have to have the Kies programme which is downloadable from the samsung website to upload ICS.....when you plug your phone into the PC Kies will inform you if an update is available for your model of phone.
