I wanted to get reminders as to what Amazon's free daily app is, but didn't want to install an app. The benefit to me is, not only is there no app running in the background, but using the desktop link from an email, I can add the app to my account without having to download it immediately (i.e., sync them to my cloud but NOT my device).

Anyway, I wrote a mini website that simply sends an email each morning with info on the app and a link to get it. No ads, no spam, etc. No reselling of emails, yadda yadda. I'm just a bored web developer. Enjoy.

Interesting, thanks. I see you mention it supports Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk which is the one I personally am interested in.
Although the Web page link shows the Amazon.com app of the day, how does the link know your email request is asking for the .co.uk notification?

It should detect your language code from your browser. Where are you from and what is your language being sent up from the browser? Thanks.

If you look at my avatar to the left of this post you will see where I am posting from and the language is standard English UK.
Anyway, don't worry.... If it detects the code from the browser it will as you say automatically transfer me to the amazon.co.uk site.

Thanks again, it will save me time each morning.

EDITED:
Didn't work.....

Today I received my first 'AppOfTheDay' and it took me to Amazon.com
It did not automatically transfer me to the UK Amazon site where my normal AppOfTheDay comes from.

EDITED 2:
Now this is interesting....

Although it took me to the Amazon.com site it still allowed me to download the free app of the day.
As such I tried it then went to my the Amazon App on my phone (which is the UK Amazon App and as such offers a different free app of the day).
Next step had a look at Settings/My Apps/Cloud and sure enough today's free app was there waiting for me to download it to my phone.

What this means is although I have the UK Amazon App installed on my phone and as such receive the daily free App, the free App is DIFFERENT to the Amazon.com free App.
In other words I can use my UK Amazon App to obtain the UK Amazon free app of the day and also use the email notification to install the Amazon.com App of the day.
That means I now receive TWO free Apps of the day from Amazon.

Hope this makes sense to you....

Interesting. I had no idea that could be done.

Ok, I'll take a look at which language it detected you as. I'm actually still tweaking that part. Sorry about that. Could you PM me your email address and I'll update your setting on my end? You should at least get the UK version tomorrow morning. Thanks.

Actually I quite like the fact I can receive the Amazon.com version via email AND the Amazon.co.uk via the phones App. This way I get to have not one but two free Apps of the day.

Now if I could sign up to receive TWO emails one for Amazon.com and the other for Amazon.co.uk it would be the icing on the cake.

I'll send you my email address should you be able to do this.
Thanks.

I just tried to get the UK version and it wouldn't allow me. Not sure why yours allows it (gee, how unfair!).

Actually, if you have a second email address, I can configure THAT one to use the US version. That way, you'll get two emails (one for each store). If you do, sign up with that one and let me know that email address, too.

Shame it would not work for you...

The idea of two email addresses sounds a good plan.
As such I've sent you a second PM with two addresses.

Appreciate the efforts you are going to but don't end up busting a valve if things end up being troublesome for you.

Just sent you a PM.
Received two email notifications for each email address but unfortunately BOTH linked me to the amazon.co.uk free app of the day.
Unfortunately I've lost the amazon.com notification, which to be honest was the most important of the two seeing as the amazon app on my phone gives the amazon.co.uk free app. Your link yesterday gave me the valuable amazon.com free app.

If it's not possible to receive both I would then prefer to receive the amazon.com link please.

Thanks in advance.
