I've trolled the whole internet looking for a free or paid app that lets you rename the apps you have. I can't find a thing. I've tried AnyCut but it sometimes resizes or changes the icon too and that looks really bad. BetterCut has been removed from the android market.

So long and the short of it. How can i rename the apps i have on the desktop? This is really frustrating. It should be something simple to do too...

I think Desktop Visualizer may do this. Haven't used it in a long time though.

You are a legend! I'm 99% satisfied. But i can't just delete the name entirety and leave the icon. If i do so there is still a blank space under the icon... :/

It's been months since I used DVR, but I think there's a setting to make the icon name background black, white, or clear. You would need clear.

If you just want to get rid of icon names, LauncherPro Plus will do that too.

I haven't used DTV in a while, but yes, just make background clear.
    Desktop Visualizer:

    Just plain App icons:

GO Launcher also lets you remove text on screens, and leave text in drawers.

What i am talking about is the text under the icons. If its blank there is still black where the text would be. I just want it blank.

    Try it out. you'll see.

There's a setting to make it transparent (clear). I used to do it all the time when I made text icons for folders. The setting gives you the choice of black, white, or clear. Can't remember off the top of my head where it is exactly, though.

Check out the plugins too - you can do neat things like make areas of a wallpaper image into clickable shortcuts. :)

Not sure what you're talking about... the icons near the bottom are an app, a folder, and an app, no names.

Not too sure I would be interested in that but I'll check them out to see what all can be done. Having the names of various apps on my homescreens cut off was irritating to me, I have now fixed said app names. Pretty damn cool
