ROMs Andriod Cygwin kitchen setup

Need help in the install of Cgywin and Andriod Kitchen? I need some guidance on file and install scripts. BTW running on Windows 10 can't seem to setup Cygwin file directory right. I just want to get the kitchen installed right so I can work on customizing ROMs. Any help would be thanked.

I was reading on another web site's thread at it said to use Oracles Virtual Machine to run linux commands to pull files from git. Can I use cygwim to do the same thing, and compile everything I need then use the kitchen to customize later? I downloaded the Virtual Machine but it will not alow me to intsall it along side Windows 10. I have the device tree and kernel locations from git. just need to pull the repos and build the foundation for the ROM before any customizing. In short will cygwin do the same thing running linux commands needed?
