I'm planning on getting this phone but i was curious what was happening with the android 2.0 situation. Is the cliq going to be able to run it?

Yes it will get the update we just have to wait like everybody else. Motorola.com has a faq section
According to one of my friends who does tech support for T-mobile, they will be pushing out an update for Moto-Blur sometime either later this month or in January that is designed to speed up the interface. I don't think they are going to get rid of the whole moto-blur interface and give us vanilla 2.1, but I do want the turn-by-turn direction app!!!
i'm not..any tips on saving battery. my brightness is low, the only thing i have on is 3G which would obviously increase battery life if its turned off..but then wats the point of motoblur if my info doesnt come in anyway
um where exactly did you find that on moto's site? exactly what i thought! another person just spreading rumors and act like they got all the answers. sorry, but moto hasn't released anything official stating it will or won't get the update. go search the faq and moto's forums.
well... im not saying this is "official" but i was on the phone with tmobile rep. and we were talking about the cliq due to me and wife getting one. he was wanting to get his gf one and was asking about batt life.. he said he only had a chance to play with it a lil bit before it launch. i told him loved it but batt sucked and that i didnt understand how a yr 1/2 phone (g1) has 1.6 and a new phone only 2 months old has 1.5. he said yeah i know and i dont understand that either that he asked his boss about that before actually considering it for his gf. he said his boss told him that it should be coming soon because there android sales are jumping and people are asking about it alot. so blah blah blah... maybe cliq will get 2.0!!!!!!!!
Let the battery DIE till the phone turns off by itself. Charge it up and do it AGAIN! You will see the difference! If you use all that crazy stuff like tweet, facebook...... it will drain the battery, what do you expect you know. But do as I mention and you still will see it does better.
I dont use all that stuff and MAN my battery goes and goes and I even STREAM video using jetflicks!
