I bought an HTC Desire on Telus a few months ago. I returned it for repair because it was continually rebooting and/or freezing. It would reboot when answering an incoming call, it would regularly freeze while typing emails etc.

I was given an HTC Hero as a loaner phone while my Desire was in for repair. The Hero was rock solid stable on Android 1.5.

Earlier this week I got the 2.1 OTA upgrade for the Hero and eagerly installed it so I could get back the tethering functionality that I had on the Desire.

The Hero, now running 2.1, rebooted on the first incoming phone call!

Has anyone else experienced this? It is extremely frustrating, not only to continually miss calls, but also because my Desire is getting "repaired" for what appears to be an OS issue.
