If you don't think this had anything to do with the iPhone release tomorrow then you're delusional!

Cyanogen has tweeted that the Froyo source has finally been released, so it's very feasible that it will hit OTA as well.

its just a wait and see now.. what pisses me off is that the nexus has lost its exclusivity, 2.2 will be on the droid, droid x, etc within 2 weeks. watch!

yes, in the now, its a bummer, but its good for android overall. fragmentation of android really hurts development.

cant wait for cyanogen to work his magic on the froyo source!

Is there any way to get the update on our Nexus Ones without having to wait for the update to be pushed OTA?

is exclusivity more important that being always in the latest version of the OS, and being there first?

I think they made it an option for security and monetizing. I assume then we will not be seeing every developer participate in using this function and by doing so they would make their app obsolete letting us the consumer choose the necessity of this feature. Idealistically for me anyway.

Dude i had my phone for barely a half hour and knew nadda from android aside from what i read here and xda. I jumped in head frist and rooted and it wasnt diffucult at all. A little nerve wracking...yea sure but it went quick. You seem pretty well rounded with all this stuff on here, give it a shot.:D:D:D
