To force your phone to check for an OTA update, enter this in the phone dialer:

    *#*#2432546#*#*

(PS: it's easy to remember, as those numbers spell checkin)

If there is no update, you will see a triangle icon in your notification bar, and a message of "checkin success"

    That's it.

Not sure what shows when there is an update, but if you want to check on a paranoid basis, that's how you do it.

If memory serves, hitting the about phone, status, check for updates will just allow you to get an update if you missed the notification.

I'm on ATT. If you get the official OTA, please post which network you're on.

I wonder if this is going to roll out to T-mo phones first. I just typed it in and nothing happened again.

Checked out market place and there a ton of apps to be updated. And best of all, there's an "Update All" button at the bottom!

I just did the *#*#2432546#*#* thing and it updated a couple of market apps. Didn't update my firmware though, still on FRF72. Don't know how much they could've added in 600k though. But I still want it!!!!!!!!!
