Android 2.2 for Samsung Intercept?

Hi does anyone know when the Android 2.2 update will be available for the Samsung Intercept? I read somewhere that the Samsung Moment will not get it, but the Intercept will.

This is what I've heard as well from Sprint. It's supposed to be getting 2.2, just not for a couple months yet.

maybe i can't read or am still sleeping... does this have a release date of when? and do we need to go to the store or can we update the phone ourselves?

There's no release date yet but it has Sprint blessing (which should solve the question). My best guess would be 4Q or 1Q 2011. Remember this phone just hit the streets in July.

Now regarding the updates, it will be wireless OTA (over the air). You will be prompted or you can use the update feature in the Settings - About menu.

I used to have a Cliq with 1.5, so 2.1 (or 2.2) would be a huge improvement!!

The sprint website says the Intercept comes with 2.2, but the Virgin Mobile site says it has 2.1. It may be they are in the process of upgrading their inventory.

I just ordered the droid intercept and the Virgin mobile site states that it is on the Android 2.1 platform.
