You are lame. I tried to find the quote but the 2.2 is running on G1's in google internally. If the hero doesn't get it, then I will buy the EVO.

    Never say never.

Would you care to elaborate on why it won't be on the Hero?

Some enterprising soul will make it work someday, if for no more reason than the fact that there are people like you out there who say it can't happen.

My guess is that someone, somewhere, has already started working on it, you know, instead of griping that it can't be done.

(lmao... someone over on xda has already put a FroYo system image onto a Hero (cooked) kernel. So far, they're able to browse the web with it. So, technically, it's already on the Hero)

That's what they (HTC) wants you to do, buy the EVO. If our phones will run 2.2 and it will offer us a better android experience, then they should upgrade our phones. God knows they still have plenty of bugs to fix. The Sprint HTC Hero isn't even a year old. If HTC is not willing to support their products for even one year, then I will never buy an other HTC phone again. Just my .02 cents.

The Samsung Moment is also less than a year old and Samsung BARELY supported it even after a couple months after it was released and the dev community, though really talented, is very small. HTC is a huge step up IMO. They're not great, but it could always be much, much worse.

when you bought your phone, there was nothing implied or agreed upon by HTC or Sprint that you would get upgrades in software. It's the same for ALL phone manufacturers and cell companies. HTC is more than willing to support the phone you bought, but please don't confuse support with upgrades/updates. If the phone breaks, you'll get support for the hardware.

When Sprint comes out and says, yes the Hero will get Android 2.2 then and only then will it be expected. Until then, I'm more than happy with my Hero.. Of course I do expect a dev to makes a 2.2 ROM... I might even try it...unless at that time I have a new phone..
