Hello all, from a few days testing new software written by stane1983 and is very stable, there was no suspension system. Very well done, please more, thanks to you our toys so do not get bored quickly. I was play as I get back from vacation I'm going for 10 days to stane1983 to Makarska only that, the damage that your football team also had to go back, cheering them with all my heart. Exactly! I make one "UpdateKit" folder after doing the uboot with sd tool, there i put all the 7 files, and just to be sure, I copied all of them on the root once more. I used 3 cards allready, no sign of sucess. I guess I can try from another XP machine, but I'm starting to think that maybe the problem is in the f16ref board, as stane1983 mentioned in his last post. I guess I'll try to send it back in the worst case and hope for some refund, who knows...thank you for all your help and good advices, if you have some new ideas, I will be glad to try it..

Чем лечил:
В шапке подробно описаны различные способы востановленния, для меня они оказались достаточно сложные и не понятные:
-Создание загрузочной sd-карты в Linux-
- Установка образов sd-карт с помощю Paragon Partition Manager 11-
- Создание загрузочной sd-карты с помощью Hex редактора -
Эти способы достойны внимания, но они требую определенных знаний и навыков работы в Linux.

Чем вылечил:
- Создание загрузочной с помощью SDTool -
Способ создания загрузочной sd-карты в Windows XP
В архиве утилита и инструкция по использованию.

Все далаем по инструкции, с небольшой корректировкой.

Для примера возмем прошивку Vission ATV-108 ICS 4.0.3 (c03ref, M1)(2012-06-12)Custom Stane1983 release.
В этой прошивке семь файлов:

aml_autoscript
ethmac.efuse
factory_update_param.aml
new_patch.zip
u-boot-aml-ucl.bin
uImage_recovery
update.zip


Шаг 1.
Вставляем SD карту в компьютер. Открываем SDTool запускаем программу, выбираем SD Card с нашей картой.

Шаг 2.
Нажимаем "Browse", выбираем файл uboot, в нашем случае это u-boot-aml-ucl.bin из прошивки.

Шаг 3.
Жмем "Make SDcard", процесс происходит очень быстро, появится надпись "Success Auto uninstall SD Card", жмем ОК. SD Card автоматически размонтируется.

Шаг 4.
Вытаскиваем SD Card из компьютера и заново вставляем.

Шаг 5 (пошли отличия от оригинальной инструкции!)
Копируем ВСЕ файлы прошивки:

aml_autoscript
ethmac.efuse
factory_update_param.aml
new_patch.zip
u-boot-aml-ucl.bin
uImage_recovery
update.zip

не в директорию, а в корень SD Card!

Шаг 6.
Безопасное извлечение из компьютера SD Card. Далее к нашему устройству и стандартно прошиваем:
Отключил питание - вставил SD карту с прошивкой - нажал Reset - не отпуская Reset включил питание - три мигания светодиодов (красный + сини&#1081 - отпустил Reset - прошивка пошла.

Для меня это оказался самый прстой способ востановленния.

This is exactly the way to do it. the other instructions in pdf are for product mesada fv3, very similiar to atv-108 but not the same.

also, Stane1983,

-News and weather is missing from new kernel builds. can you please add it back it?

-I have a green android that shows at boot instead of your vplay boot logo, no matter how many times i flash. perhaps this is connected with vplay screen replacing mouse cursor. just a thought.

-small IR remote no longer works on new kernel builds.

-have you taken a look at the google tv remote server code? i think it could be a nice addition to the rom for all sorts of stuff.

-also, can power management be added back into your rom now that you have a custom kernel? i'd like sleep function added back to device..

- With my kernel builds, I didn't include my VP bootlogos in kernel image that's why you don't see it
- Kernel is also responsible for IR behavior and I didn't change that in kernel, will change in next build
- PM and sleep/standby function will be implemented somehow... believe it or not, I yesterday started digging over the code to see how to implement that either in MoviePlayer or systemwide
- About Google TV remote server, I did look at it, but since I'm not familiar with concept of Google TV, never had one, can you explain what do you mean by making nice addition to rom?

Well, maybe on a c03ref, but with mine f16ref the result after 3 cards and two XP machines is the same - nothing changes, I made it exactly as it shown, still no luck at all...btw, why exactly this happened, when I chose to restore the factory settings - the device is supposed to be working after that, right? Or this is the case only with the ofw, not with the cfw, provided here?

I've received the device some days ago from A s i a p a d s. It has 3.02 kernel, but I'm not very happy - it is equipped with rev1 motherboard (green Amlogic 8726M3) instead rev2 (blue - Amlogic 8726M3) they promised - so try another seller if you are looking for f16ref board. The only good news - my board has 4 GB NAND insted 2 GB.

Because factory ROM can't be rooted I've installed 20120612_Android_ICS-ATV-108-c03ref ROM from stane1983 - it looks great. The only thing I've added - boosting SD card manually

echo 2048 > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/253:0/read_ahead_kb

because SDBooster.apk from the Market expects SD card at 179:0 and says there is no SD. It's recommended also using Autostart.apk, and disable autoraising of some apps (all Google apps - Maps, Talk, etc., and media scanner).

After that AnTuTu Benchmark shows 2450 points that is pretty good (but less then I expected). I believe a cause - poor result of 3D test, even animations during test doesn't look very great.

WiFi works excellent - no any problem, I has 12 Mb connection at home, and SpeedTest.apk shows 11.5 Mb speed.

Microphone doesn't work - I have no idea if it's because of the hardware or because of the ROM. Another problem - Android crashed during performing check of external storage when I tried to connect 2TB external disk (Samsung Store Station) to USB (but this disk works perfectly on my old Flutouch 2 Android tablet).

Im in Brazil and i have tried 2 different providers with 2 different machines(Claro and Vivo). Both didnt work. I think its related to a DNS problem more than a ISP block. Either way, im going to try this on 2 DX devices today. They both have c03ref boards and even if the remote doesnt work but get recognized, i will write a script for a software on the google market to set the remaining buttons. My 2 devices are:
Android Full HD 1080P Media Player w/ USB/SD/HDMI/RJ45 Ports - Black (2 x AAA) - Worldwide Free Shipping - DX
and
1080P Android 2.3 Media Player w/ WiFi / HDMI / SD (Cortex A9 1.0GHz / 2GB) - Worldwide Free Shipping - DX

Last release is based on new Amlogic sources, Android 4.0.4 with all features + some new. Download and enjoy! Any buy me some beer if you like

still no netflix. now timer runs and skips 20 seconds at a time. no video. no audio. player controls are ok. also, is it just me or is the cursor bigger? i wiped my unit and did cache wipe and i havent had the vplay mouse cursor problem happen again yet..so thats good. system speed is snappy and good. testing continues...going to add full permissions pack to rom and make a few other adjustments.

UPDATE: Youtube now works great! scales down small when not fuil screen then scales up then back down properly! now that we have a larger system partition, we can begin to try the services.jar and services.odex OOM timing fixes..maybe this will fix netflix. all i know is that its getting worse, but that could be an indicator of something as well.

UPDATE2: World at war flash video link still not working quite right. change browser to 'desktop' mode and load page. flash video plays in small windowed mode. NO FULLSCREEN. system needs restart after trying fullscreen, every time.

Cursor is bigger, will try to force smaller pointer (now uses xhdpi picture). First release, will see what we can do with netflix...

just had cursor replacement problem again, this time with the 'smart, smarter' boot logo. ARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! while the unit still boots, it boots to a black screen and not the launcher. it has a mouse cursor but its the 'smart, smarter' boot logo as a cursor.

Stane, can we get MD5 hash on your files? Its just that i simply dont trust the internet...

Also, after rebooting from installing Adaway (which i dont think has any relation) im getting "UI stopped working" and the resolution seems to be greater than my 1080p monitor. Any ideas?
Either way, im already downloading today's version.

Regarding the resolution problem, when i initially set to 1080p the box was actually at 1280x768 and i noticed that now, with the problem, its on 1920x1032... trying to set top 720P freezes the box... weird...

Yep, that came along with the resolution problem for me... i have the boot logo as cursos and resolution messed up...

This thing is working really fast tho...noticed that the clock is still at 750mhz. very nice! runs cool and quick. HD vids look amazing! but cannot play back .MPG files. they load over samba through vplay, timer shows correct length, but vid never starts. same from usb hard drive.
mpeg4 works well, so do avi, divx, mkv, ac3 and dts is great. but no .mpg mpeg2.

no news and weather, no ir remote control.


This thing is running allot smoother...im really liking this.

BUG UPDATE: No Microphone from c03ref. voice search installed, but not voice captured. microphone not active.

BUG UPDATE 2: SD cards do not mount properly on their own when inserted into system. only load correctly upon reboot.

I just upgraded form version "12" to version "21"... i factory reset afterwords... and i had no google apps afterwords.. none. I also couldnt add a google account. I reflashed the new version and still no google apps? Any ideas?

@CoyoteX: As I can see - you do NOT have Visson's media box. Our fimrwares are for Visson's c03ref and Visson's f16ref. There is no guarantee that firmware will work corretly on other boxes..
On our boxes we could not reproduce cursor replacement problem.

@grindinonyourm: This is first build based on ICS 4.0.4. - news and wether will be included soon in next build

We still have some bugs with freescale on 1080p - but 720p should work fine I suggest to stay on 720p for now

@CoyoteX: As I can see - you do NOT have Visson's media box. Our fimrwares are for Visson's c03ref and Visson's f16ref. There is no guarantee that firmware will work corretly on other boxes..
On our boxes we could not reproduce cursor replacement problem.

Seems that grindinonyourm has the same problem with the cursor and i thought he had the same box as you guys. Indeed i have a different box, which is why im focusing on problems that could be likely general instead of related to my box.
