Hello Guyzz, Anyone have any idea that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users will get the marshmallow update on their phones??

I second what others said, February ballpark. I got the stock international version so I should be seing an update as one of the first ones to receive it. Will keep you posted.

Snap, mine's also factory unlocked, no waiting for carriers to mess round with it. Phil

Not always quicker to unbranded/unlocked handsets, often carriers are sent the software earlier and so send their version out early, I don't hold my breath these days even though I have an unlocked international Note 4.

If you want to know if firmware is available for your device you can look here. This is where I look to find official firmware for my phone when I downgraded one time. Seems rather comprehensive.

I'm pretty sure that AT&T will get the 6.0 update, when 7.0 comes out. I've had 6.01 on my Nexus 5, and it's really no big deal.:p

February is half over already... any news on it yet? The new S7 / S7 Edge is suppose to be introduced this Sunday.

I'm willing to bet the marshmallow update won't happen because of the new phones available in March. with marshmallow. Hope I'm wrong, but they've done that before.

It is available now on Verizon, I checked System Updates and was given the option of not installing it. ????

What? VZW letting me decide if I want a system update? the sky is falling surely...

I told it no, am waiting for reviews to see how well it fairs with the Note 4.

Yeah, I'm very interested in either the S7 Edge or Edge+ when I switch to Verizon. If indeed it has the microSD, I'll probably get it. I never used the pen much anyways on the Note 4 as it was too sharp and left scratch like marks on screen whenever I used it and had to clean it every time. Ended up using this:

I bought my Note 4 off of Swappa, it came with a Gorilla Glass on it...

there are no scratches, and I suppose the original owner was aware the pen will scratch the OEM display?

so, based on what I see with mine, the Gorilla Glass is a cost effective insurance device.

I read the other day it's been pushed to March or maybe April

Aha!!! I thought so, probably won't happen, they'll stall because the Note 6 is coming...they've pulled this before. They know that if I can put marshmallow on my Note 4, I might not upgrade to a newer phone... and they don't want that. It's all about $$$.

why not find another Note 4 that is on Verizon now?
you will have a device that you already know and like, and you can let it upgrade to 6.0

that will be cheaper than buying a VZW phone from them.
IIRC, I found mine for $300 with a lot of accessories, the Gorilla Glass, and the heavy case that I wanted... I looked quite a while until one like I wanted showed up...

  18. I found this on Androidpit:

" The new timetable places the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ updates in February, the S6 and S6 Edge in February/March and other devices as late as April. "

there is a picture showing that the Note 4 is scheduled or March/April. Seems like it got pushed back again. That doesn't count the time the Carriers will have with it I imagine, but happy if someone could prove me wrong on it.

    updated link to work properly

I have MM 6.0.1 on my old S3-- (Resurrection Remix rom)- doesn't look much different to 5.1.1. . I am in no hurry for MM on my Note 4- when it turns up, I will wait a bit to see what bugs are kicking about before putting it on phone.

I am stuck to Vodafone UK so I don't get the update until every other network gets it........ by that time I will be due an upgrade or I might move from Vodafone

Lilac--don't worry about not having MM6 on your phone- not that much difference to 5.1.1 from what I have seen.
I go into a local O2 shop regularly and play with the phones, so get to see differences.
    I have a UK Note 4 on O2 running 5.1.1.
Android N is nearly out now--can't possibly guess if and when we will get that- maybe never.

Hate to say it, but I don't think the Note 4 is getting the Marshmallo update... they want to sell the newer Note 5 and S7 Edge phones that have it... so with that in mind, I retired the Note 4, got the S7 Edge.... it was time for a new phone for me anyways as I didn't have any choice changing from AT&T to Verizon.
