Can you help me please. I want to use android app for orders in the hospitality business (restaurants, coffee bars, etc,) The waiters will make orders from the clients on this application and also close orders and make payments.

My problem is how to choose an android device (smartphone or tablet ) that will last with battery at least one shift ..

    Can you suggest something?

Welcome to AF. I moved this here as I think you will get some better responses.:)

Assuming that the screen would only be on while taking orders, accepting payment, etc. I would think something like a Nexus 7 would fit the bill. With the amount of usage I could imagine you could probably get a days worth of use between charges. The size would be large enough to have many options on the screen while interacting with customers but will easily fit in a larger size pocket or apron pocket when not needed.

I have a friend here that works in the restaurant business. I'll ask him to have a look at this in case he has any ideas.

Welcome to the forums, Dejanp! :hello:
It sounds like you have a POS system already set up? In DC, POS systems utilizing iPads are very popular (there's a few out there).
Only time I've seen one with Android was a Note 2 (or Galaxy S3, I don't recall). The cashier had a little dongle which connected to the micro USB and you could swipe a credit card with it. Very handy!
The iOS ones (for iPads) are much more popular and great for carrying around a restaurant by waiters/hostesses.
For Android, a Nexus 7 would be great although you may want to look into a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.0 since it uses a stylus making it easier to write on.
If you don't have a POS system already setup, don't discount the iOS ones.

If you're looking for "CHEAP BUT QUALITY", you'd have to look at the Nexus 7 as previously mentioned, or a Galaxy Tab 2 7inch.

Not sure for the Nexus, but my Galaxy Tab 7 can be a hotspot for around 5hrs before running dry. :) Normally it lasts me from 6 in the morning to evening on a single charge. Of course this depends on what I did on it the whole day though.

My son will stream netflix on his N7 for 6-7 hours straight on a charge and he is at the opposite end of the house (~50') from the WiFi router.
