    Hi All,

I'm new to Android and having been running the Hello works and Notepad sample apps from the developer.android.com website. I've got the emulator launched and can run my app. Some questions I have:
    - is there anyway to speed up the emulator?, it's very slow. I launch it from with Eclipse 3.6 (using ADT plugin, e.t.c)
    - can i make changes in my code and see it reflected in the emulator straight away without having to restart the emulator ?

    Any thoughts/advice would be great.

    Thanks - Ro

    Welcome to the AndroidForums, Ro!

Yeah, the emulator is very slow, isn't it? I usually end-up developing on my phone versus the emulator for that very reason.

The PC I develop on is very slow...I installed the SDK on my son's monster gaming machine PC and it was amazingly fast. So, its really the speed of your PC that will determine how usable and responsive the emulator is.

Be sure to visit our developer's section like Steven mentioned:
