    You would do better asking in our Application Development forum.

    However, the answer will depend on which version of Android you are targeting. I believe that 6.0 has a native API for fingerprint recognition, so it should be quite straightforward for Marshmallow. It will be a lot more work for earlier versions.

    Thank you much for the reply.. but I'm new to android development therefore I've no idea how to start it. I thought to do image processing for fingerprint recognition because fingerprint scanning is only available in new versions of smart phones. If u can give some ideas on this it would be a great help thanks again

    You mean you want to use the camera for fingerprint recognition? It's really not my field. I could speculate, in very general terms, about approaches I might take if I were to do it, but since this isn't my field the chances are I'd miss something important, or possibly point you down completely the wrong track. I am sure that doing this all from scratch would be a lot of work though.
