Android media not Read

Sometimes when I disconnect my phone from my computer while USB storage is on, my music, custom ringtones, and Gallery are empty. How can I prevent this from happening, or what do I do to make my phone read the SD again. My phone does this for about 10 minutes until it feels like reading media again.

You should always turn USB Storage off before disconnecting your device. Not doing so can cause file/disk damage.

The reason it takes awhile is because android expects to still be used as USB Storage.

My media disappeared again >_<. Yes, I did turn off USB storage before removing the USB cable.

hmmm interesting so let me ask this what filemanager are you using on the phone?

An alternative I would highly recommend for swapping files between phone/tablet and computer is a app called Airdroid You don't need any cables to use it and I have never had a problem with media disappearing with it.

I only use gallery.

Use an app like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.jerickson314.sdscanner

It will force a media rescan.

Hi I want to know if any possibility to view music files in gallery
or want to know how to attach existing audio files in your phone through whatsapp. I mean select audio file to attach from whatsapp
