    Hi,

I won't be able to do until Sunday night, but basically the widget comes out at about less than a cm on the screen and I don't know why?

    It's really tiny.

    paulmz thanks for sharing.

I have samsung galaxy i7500 (320 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inches) how do I size the pictures that u provided to my screen size so I don't have a big gap in between them?

EDIT: is there a measuring tool that can help size for all the apropriat resolutions?

Earlier in this thread, I posted suggested dimensions for the HTC Eris:

DROID Eris Desktop Visualizer Image Dimensions

Different phones have minor differences in usable screen space due to varying sizes of the notification bar and other factors I have not been able to determine. But these dimensions should be really close.

Be sure to post screenshots after you arrange icons so we can take a look at it. Also, this way we can try to figure out if the image dimensions are different.

wtf I dont get how these scaling work!!

correct me if I'm wrong but, if I have my settings set to 4 columns and 4 rows, then it means a 4x4 image should take a howl screen isnt it?? 4 x 4 would be a 320 x 480???

Okay, first describe what you are trying to do. Are you attempting to create a 4x4 Desktop Visualizer widget? If so, then the image that you are going to use for the widget needs to be 314x314 pixels (this is still just an estimated dimension). If the image is the correct size, it should fill the widget perfectly. The dimensions already take into account the space taken by the dock and notification bar.

Try not to get frustrated. Once we figure out where the disconnect is, we can get you going.

Post a screenshot if you're still having problems so I can see what you're talking about.

I wrote this 5 posts up from this one:

"Earlier in this thread, I posted suggested dimensions for the HTC Eris:

DROID Eris Desktop Visualizer Image Dimensions" <--Click This Link

Note, these are only dimensions for the stock widget sizes from Desktop Visualizer. If you want to resize icons using LauncherPro Plus, you will need to calculate the sizes from the ones provided. For example: Desktop Visualizer doesn't have a 4x2 widget, but you can make one by taking the height dimensions for a 1x2 widget (154) and combine it the the width of a 4x1 widget (314). Using this formula, an image for a 4x2 widget would be [approximately] 314x154 (width x height).

Also, please note that all of these dimensions are based on the LauncherPro Homescreen being set to 4-columns and 5-rows.

Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

Okay, I have to ask, where did the icons come from? If you downloaded them from this thread, we haven't created any icons to fit a device with your screen resolution yet. Therefore, all of the icons in this thread are made for screens of at least 480x800 resolution. They will not space correctly on your screen because they are not the correct dimensions.

The icon dimensions posted in this thread are for people to use to create their own icons. There are also tutorials on how to create the icons from scratch.

Yes, the HTC Legend has the same resolution as the Eris: 320x480.

Keep an eye on this thread. I'm working on icons for this resolution.

Hey paulmz, thanks for the tutorial. I am currently using your pictures but I am planning on making my own. I wanted to see how it looked first. When I'm done I will post screen shots.

Okay, from what I can tell by your description...

If you have to "stretch" the image to fit the template, then the images you are using probably aren't big enough to begin with and will probably look pixelated.

Maybe try adjusting the size of the image first before adding it to the template. Here's a simple crop method that guarantees the correct sized image: Image Resizing Using Photoshop.

If you need any other help, feel free to post or Personal Message the images and what widget sizes you want them and I can get them adjusted.
