Does it show up when you go to 'File > New > Other'? There should be a folder named "Android" that contains all the project types for Android.

    com.domainname.projectname

Lets say your project is called FooTest, then you could call it com.something.footest. You can actually have what ever you want as packagename as long as its two parts long or longer.

If you are able to press finish on the new dialog, then the project is created. Then you can start making an app.

Android is based on Java and XML so it is importent to have a basic understanding for Java.
The tutorials site at developer.android.com is a good place to start. Technical Resources | Android Developers

I've got a quick question....originally when I first did this thing, under New there was Java Project, Android Project, and Project....well i ran into some issues and redid the installation and the plugin and now after going through all the steps, there is only Java Project and Project....what happened to the Android Project...I know if I click Project it will take me to a list of types of projects but I liked the quick convenience of it being right there under NEW...how can I get it back?
