If android phone hangs and restarts itself or someone pulls battery out while its running does this affect the HW and SW stored in ROM? or its like windows os which gives trouble when not shut down properly

Nah, it'll be fine, no worries on the battery pull.

If a phone just glitches, it can freak out and re-boot itself as you describe.

If it does that very often, you've gotten something tangled by something, best then to backup everything and do a factory reset.

    Yep.

In fact - as I mentioned, sometimes a phone glitches, it'll just reboot? - well, sometimes when it glitches, you pull the battery to fix it!

    The rom stays intact.

Nothing left and lost from ram is critical - it will be re-created from the rom.
