Android/Samsung problem

This has just appeared in the middle of my Samsung Galaxy without me doing anything:

I don't like it - how do I get rid of it?

Looks like it's some sort of spam or airpushed ad. Check out this app:

It will search your apps to find the offending one. You can also try Lookout if the previous app doesn't help:

I thought it hadn't worked at first, but I found I could change the wallpaper which I couldn't before.

Glad you got it fixed, Brian. One thing that's good to do (if you have time) is when you find and remove the offending app, leave a 1 star review for it and say there are AP ads.
