Hi, first time poster here. I have the HTC Desire, and I've put a number of albums on it. It has a bad habit of splitting some of them into two albums with identical names. It doesn't do it all the time, but when it does do it, it's consistent: it is quite adamant that, for example, three of the songs on The Joshua Tree comprise a second album, also called The Joshua Tree. This doesn't seem to be a tag issue. All the songs are uniformly tagged with the same tag editor. Anyone have any insight into why this happens and how to fix it?

Are the songs all in the same folder? The music player splits the albums if the songs are in different folders.

Make sure that the songs all have the same 'Album Artist' info. This field isn't really necessary to have filled, but if one song has the info and one doesn't it will not put them together.
