Root Animated Wallpaper - Performance Killers?

    Animated wallpapers are cool but seem to make everything else lag. Are they just performance killing eye-candy?

    pretty much. If you ever monitor your CPU usage real-time, you'll see that very basic stuff like scrolling lists and homescreens will spike the CPU to 100%.

    Yep they tax the processor and drain your battery. But they look so nice.

    Maybe on stock Evos but they make very little to no difference on mine.

    Animated wallpapers are like a woman with a sexy European accent. At first it is hot and fascinating, but after a while it just gets on your nerves. When we add all this eye candy to out phones sometimes se forget we actually have to use the damned things and not just look at it.

    +1... the drain on battery is negligible.

    it is especially negligible if you have a HAVS kernel :)

    Indeed it is... I have been using the KingxKernal for a couple of weeks now and its been great on battery life :D. Just flashed the new BFS#5... the King does great work.
