    Ok, here's my problem.

I have Facebook, Emails, and multiple phone numbers for some of my contacts. Now when I go in the "People" app all these different ways to contact the person are there neatly under one contact.

When I go to text someone or make a phone call, I have anywhere from 2 to 5 contacts for each person because it lists all the ways I can get a hold of that person under different contacts.

    Whats up with this?

    I noticed this as well.

I have tried to just develop the habit of going to People, find the contact I wish to message, and then select either the send text or send email option rather than composing a new message in Messages/Handcent. Unless you're sending texts to groups of people, this method is just as convenient (to me, anyway).

Thats the only reason I dont use FriendStream to sync up my facebook with my phone. It sucks because if i want contact pictures I need to manually do it. Hopefully they add a way to truncate the list soon.

you can "link" the contacts so they all merge together.

Why don't you just link the multiple entries for each contact? That should consolidate each into a single entry, no? I'm fairly sure that I was able to do this successfully before.

That works inside the people app, but it doesn't truncate them when you use the phone button or the text app to find a contact.
