Hi!
HTC Hero has become poorly after lying in the sun for a while. It goes into a boot loop. It's not rooted. Obviously I can't get into the thing to mount it as a USB drive (although it does make a "USB discovery" noise when I put it into Fastboot USB mode, I can't see the drive...).
Now I've tried the method of extracting the rom.zip from files with names like
RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver
and renaming as HEROIMG.zip on the SD card and booting pressing the Volume Down button. In general they come up with the error "Main Version is Older!" and fail.
Eventually I came across this chap
RUU_Hero_H3G_UK_2.73.771.73_release_signed_NoDriver
and tried the same thing. This one fails with an error "CID Incorrect".
Help! Is there any way to save my phone??
