HTC Hero Android 2.1 update coming 16 April? - Pocket-lint

The Android 2.1 update for the European HTC Hero appears finally to be arriving on 16 April. The date was given in e-mail to an HTC Club member straight from HTC headquarters in Taiwan stating that a ROM update would be rolling out from then.


The upgrade will not necessarily be arriving across every region at the exactly the same time but users should find it available across the continent in very quick succession.


The rumoured launch makes some sense given that the update, for what many named as gadget of 2009, has already been pushed back from its expected March 2010 release. The news also comes just in time for those Hero owners who might have been considering to the switch to the mark II type device, the HTC Legend, which arrived a matter of days ago
