Biggest Issue for me with ATT (besides there is literally no service in my town). They don't offer a discount or anything if you are not in 3G area (just came to my state November 09 and won't reach my town until 2011 if we are lucky)

Verizon plans might be more expensive but at least I will get what I am paying for.

Need to do research on Geocaching apps
