Another small software (UK) update, but no noticeable differences..

Found another OTA software update last week (I had a small update back in Feb/March, but this is yet another update) downloaded it, installed it (only about 78mb)

Was hoping it was something exciting, but phone still shows 4.1.2 (that's the current one right?)

but I guess the kernel version has changed, because the date says may31


Does anyone know what this update has brought with it?

Googled the update, yes it's just a small tweak of the the phone as listed below:


Europe countries owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100) is set to received the new Jelly Bean 4.1.2 software update to build version N7100XXDME6. This update has still the same kernel changes from previous Jelly Bean 4.1.2 N7100XXDMC3 releases that fixes the known WiFi bug and heating issues. This update brings a new baseband or modem version to N7100XXDME4 from earlier build version N7100XXDLK7, which signifies to improved data connectivity. Again, we can’t gather any official changelog that tells about the overall changes this new Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update DME6 may bring.

I'm not sure if its because I have a new phone or recent updates but I'm sure my battery is lasting longer, just finished the day and after 12 hrs since charge I had 79% left, ok very light usage, few calls and internet but no playing, still thats not bad.

Possibly, hard to tell in my case, as i often top up my battery throughout the day.

I've noticed the photo gallery has changed from a three picture thumb nail width to just two thumb nail wide (preview).

I had the 78MB update a couple of weeks ago, but yesterday had another one of around 28MB.

Kernel version still shows 31st May.

ok, well this update hasn't changed anything on the about page, all the software, kernals etc are exactly the same versions as before

After my latest little update my auto brightness function no longer works properly.

Well this is really annoying now as I always keep my display on auto and now it does nothing.
Any idea how I can fix it.
