answering a call while using an application

hi.. my friend is using galaxy s at this moment and he has a problem of answering a call while using an application, a green answering button is not appearing on the screen automatically, but instead he has to go back to home screen, press the phone icon and look for the dialer then answer the call.. it's so annoying.. any idea about this?? please help... thanks a lot....

Pull down the notification bar and tap on the incoming call.
