Hi all, fist post here. I was looking for a physical pager, however they are pretty much non-existant. I was wondering if any of you knew of an app that can function as one? I tried the google play store. I found some apps, but they only worked for text. What I'm looking for is an app that can notify me maybe every minute for an hour if certian numbers call (not all numbers). When I'm in a truck or a tractor I rarely hear my phone. During planting and harvest it is important that I can call back if need be. Even if I do hear a tone, with ebay, facebook, email, text, and phone calls, I look at my phone and a lot of times it turns out not being important.

    Thanks in advance!

Its not quite the answer to the question you were asking.... but thats exactly why I bought a 1st generation pebble watch. I can pick what notifications come through from my phone... it vibrates when I get a call or message, and I can glance down at it easier than pulling my phone out of my pocket.

Just a thought... I'm sure there must be a way of doing it with an app though

    maybe something like this

I just looked at that, and saw this:
    Updated
    9 October 2011

so, it may work on pre-KitKat android, but I note some reviews saying it is not working on later versions of Android.

You could download Tasker and make a profile that would be specific to your needs but there is a steep learning curve

Yes Tasker should be able to handle it. Tasker is not simple and a lot of people object to the complexity while a lot of other people think it is simply great.

Tasker's Learning Curve is just simply too steep to suggest it as an app for a newbie....

that is why, if at all possible, I suggest an alternative like MacroDroid
    * MacroDroid - Device Automation - Android Apps on Google Play

and in this particular instance, MD can do this job without any programming knowledge.

    Trigger: Call Missed
    Select Contact
    Action: Notification Sound
    Select Sound

    Action: Wait for next Action
    Set Time to wait
    Action: Macro Run
    Section Macro name (this macro)

this macro will run continuously until you stop it.
