Are there any free games on the market place that are worth getting?
What's worth getting is subjective but I can think of plenty off the top of my head. Cestos and Pocket Empires for online play. Hearts and Funtowers for card games. Yz (Yahtzee dice game), Toss It, Gem Miner, Coloroid and Anduko as well.
There's no appreciable increase in quality over paid and free apps (including games) in general. There are many paid apps worth playing for, don't get me wrong, but there is just as high a ratio of free apps that would also be worth paying for. Paid apps will generally have higher production values (i.e. nicer graphics, sound) but the important stuff - gameplay and control - price seems irrelevant.
I like pretty much everything Psym Mobile makes Android apps by Psym Mobile
There are a lot.
Look at the top downloaded games on the marketplace.
Yes, I strongly agree that there are numerous free games in the market, and they are worthy too.
There are many websites that offers free games and applications to the browsers. There is a site named as ddnmobile.com, it has highest ratio of free apps, games, ringtones, and wallpapers compared to the paid ones.
You can easily download required games freely with good quality from ddnmobile.com site to any mobile models.
Replica Island is fun. I think the controls were designed with the trackball in mind, though, so with the optical trackpad it is quite interesting!
