Any GB based ROMS out there that will actually be compatible with voicemail? I had a GB ROM, but the voicemail will not notify me. I read thru the forums with no luck. Thanks in advance.

Not sure. I get VM notifications via text because I foolishly pay for visual VM. I am not sure if I get notified other than that.

My visual voicemail will not work at all with GB for some reason. Which ROM are you running and what visual VM are you using if you dont mind me asking.

I'm currently on Liquid Thunderbread 2.4 and visual VM does not work at all, but I get a text everytime I get a new VM saying I have a new visual VM and to download the app, I can then call my # and check the VM. Yeah super ******ed workaround but it works.

Never got Visual VM working. I ended just setting my device to use Google Voice for VM. It actually worked out well since there is a lot additional functionality when using Google Voice over Visual VM.

Yeah, once a true GB OTA leak comes out some of the sense roms will probably support visual VM. The new gingeritis may as it is supposably built on a leak of the OTA but who knows, I don't expect that AOSP will support it for a while however once CM7 or OMFGB get it working I would expect to see it an all AOSP builds.

Probably a low priority for AOSP since google voice works right now.

Yeah I highly doubt they are working on it, many higher priority things to be fixed first. But I still think if it is fixed on one of the roms then it will be fixed on all AOSP roms within 2 weeks.

OP, I merged both of your threads. In the future there's no need to create a new thread with the same question/issue/concern when a current thread you created is already open. Just ask the question in the original thread and it will get bumped to the top of the forum.

Until they release GB officially you can bury this thread cause there will be no change.

I appreciate all the feedback, but my Google Voice will not work for some reason. I looked everywhere to make sure I'm setting up properly.

I just recently got a VM (i rarely get them now days) didn't get a sound or anything on the lock screen, but i got the icon in the status bar. opened it up, and it dialed VM for me.

Notifications will show on reboot but can't be cleared until another reboot.

there are 2 things you can do after you get a call

think you got a voicemail? do either of these steps

    1) home screen>menu>call> is your "clear voicemail notification" greyed out or bold? if it's greyed out--you don't have a voicemail. if it's bold--you got a voicemail--tap it to prevent the phone from notifying you of it on reboot.

    2) reboot the phone. a voicemail notification will appear

so. you got a voicemail--how do you clear it?
do one of these three things:

    1) BEFORE you call, go to home screen>menu>call>clear voicemail notification. this will erase the icon. it will only work if you press it BEFORE you call your voicemail
    2) Call/Hear the voicemail. then save/delete it (whatever you choose). then reboot the phone. it'll clear the notification
    OR, the much quicker way
    3) put the phone into 'hibernate' mode for about 5 seconds, then bring it out of Hibernate mode. your notification will erase itself.

    hope this helps!

(as of now, this is an issue with ALL GB ROM's. we're all SOL, but it's a small price to pay for the glory of GB :) )
