Every GB ROM I have tried has slow home screen redraw with Launcher Pro. I have heard this is inherent in GB right now. Any ROMs get around this problem?

I think it's just your phone ... or perhaps a combination of apps and widgets you're using with Launcher Pro. I only use LP and I've had no issues with any GB ROMs. And I've tried just about every one out there.

Running the nightlies on my phone with LauncherPro and haven't noticed this issue either. I have keep home in memory checked under the cyanogen settings along with in LP itself. Every once n a while it might lag out, but that's just the phone in general, and doesn't happen very often. If you have widgets that update on unlock, like Beautiful Widgets animation, or apps that sync on unlock, that can seriously slow down redraw.

It never seemed to matter which rom, the more widgets i had running the slower the phone ran, thats including re-draw, everything else, personally i think its lack of ram, but hey the phone is still a beast for almost being 2 years old, thanks to the great devs out there.

GWLaw, make sure you have "Use Homescreen Caches" and "Build Caches as Needed" checked in LP's Advanced Memory Usage Settings. And if you use Ultimate Droid, "Lock Home in Memory" under Performance Settings. It seems to help.
