So, when i first got the phone about two months ago i rooted and debloated and now every time i try to update to 5.1 i get an error about half way through the install. ive tried restoring all of the apps and all files that i originally deleted and wiped cache and urooted but it still gives me the error. am i screwed until we can get a working recovery on this phone? if we can get a working recovery on this phone...

The update verifies your existing system partition...you need to be on the full stock ROM & on the stock recovery to successfully update. Hopefully you made a backup...

Basically unless there's a fastboot method to flash factory images for your device.

You need Unmodified stock ROM & stock Recovery.

I think we need new subforums for the boost, metro, and T-Mobile variants. When more people start joining this forum and more development happens its going to get confusing real quick.

I agree with that...having a Moto X, G and E and with the umpteen million variants...GSM, multisim, 3G, LTE, CDMA versions etc...it can get really messy really quick.

I'm in total agreement, but,I'm guessing w/all the sub-forums,the powers-that-be see it as it is no guarantee from posting-d/l the wrong info.
Nothing is full-proof,we all kinda signed & agree to that stipulation & hold no one accountable but ourselves.
With that said,I'd like to see a return to the old format.
There,I'm done,I don't usually vent/speak my peace on the subject much, but,I'll jump at the chance when the discussion is relevant. :D
