You can use ADB to pull it off your phone, Or you can use root explorer to copy it to your sd card (root not required)

I'll use adb first. Give me specific instructions and I'll take care of it right away.

I don't have root explorer, however, I'll download it right now if it'll simplify the process.

For ADB I'm not a pro at that, so I'm not exact on the code your supposed to type. But for root explorer just search: "Recovery" or ".img"

    Found 2 results:

    /etc/firmware/ZTE_U880F_SUCCESS_PR1183396-s2202_32333042.img

    and

    /system/bin/recovery

    Which one would you like?

Sorry for the delay; turns out I had to use adb, regardless. I have the files located at Index of /zte for download. Good luck and please, keep us posted.

    Best regards,

Yeah, I noticed that the only *.img file on the device is: /etc/firmware/ZTE_U880F_SUCCESS_PR1183396-s2202_32333042.img which you can download here: http://w8mim.com/zte/ZTE_U880F_SUCCESS_PR1183396-s2202_32333042.img

If anyone knows how to create a stock recovery image (without root privileges) I would be more than happy to provide you with the proper image.

Do you know how to pull it?

  18. kcurtis106

    kcurtis106 Member

Not a clue. I tried "adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p16" and it wouldn't work.

    C:\0>adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p16
remote object '/dev/block/mmcblk0p16' not a file or directory

I know it's a device, however, how can I create an image file from this?

    Try adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 /zte/recovery.img

It should out put to /where/you/have adb/zte/recovery.img

    Or try adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 >> /zte/recovery.img

Also, could you do adb devices and tell me what comes up?

    C:\0>adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 /zte/recovery.img
remote object '/dev/block/mmcblk0p16' not a file or directory

It appears that we're back to square one again. Without root permissions, I am unable to pull the recovery image and ironically, I cannot root this device without flashing a custom recovery; that's my dilemma.

Seems like the only ideal way to root this device is applying an update zip file in a custom recovery, however, I cannot install a custom recovery because I don't have root permissions.
