I called Otterbox last Friday and the customer service rep said she didn't know yet. I am getting tired of waiting, may have to purchase another brand.

    Otterbox, anybody out there?

I have news but it's not the good kind. I have emailed them several times and the response is always the same.....As of right now, I don't know if we will be making a case for the Droid incredible. I would say keep an eye on our website as it will have the most up to date information on our new products and cases. I will also put in the suggestion for the incredible to our product development team.

I just sent out a couple of emails to some Engineers over at OtterBox. I will post if I hear something back.

Why would they not have a case out already. its the best selling phone out right now

I received a reply from one of the Engineers at OtterBox.

He said he was unable to release information about the upcoming products do to Marketing/legal concerns, but was able to refer me to something which was already discussed this week on Facebook.

On 6/2/10, a fan asked: "When will there be a otterbox for Droid incredible.....I needs that asap!"

And OtterBox answered, "It will be another couple months, good design takes time and we want to be sure to deliver a quality product. No plans for a black and red case at this point but that may change. The cases will be just as "Incredible" as the device though. :) "

I assumed they would release something as they have for the other HTC phones, but it looks like it will be a couple of months... I guess I am going to get an Innocase.

the innocase looked so boring. and i like otterbox because it covers the holes when not in use

While I like their product very much, Otterbox better figure out a way to release them more quickly.
At the rate these new phones are coming out, and a the rate that I can't seem to stop buying them, I will have a new phone by the time they produce their INC case.... and with following this logical progression, I may never buy on of their products again...

I agree completely. They've made cases for other phones, so it's not like the entire product has to be re-engineered every time! It's just a matter of changing the shape of the case from the last one they made. As much as I love the Otter Box, I'm not willing to wait "months". They are idiots for thinking there is a market for this product when VZW will be trying to clear their inventory of Incredibles to make way for other Androids, like the Incredible II. :D

Wow that really sucks months? I mean wtf is up with that? Looks like I will have to get something else for my phone.

Might just order one today. How do they feel in your hands? Is it more like plastic, rubber, leather? Just curious.

You have to keep in mind that Otterbox is a small company. I do not think they were expecting the Dinc to be such a hit with everyone. My guess is they were working on the redesign for the iPhone 4, and a new design for the Evo. Any development for the Dinc is probably secondary. They may have missed the boat on it now, but that is the way it goes.

Yeah I just wish Otterbox had something out by now. Ordered the Sedio last night. May just get an Otterbox at some point down the road, since when the extended battery comes out I'm sure that the Seidio will no longer fit. :(

I was hoping this was going to come out before summer. It doesn't look like a convenient case for everyday use... but would really like it for hiking/camping/etc. I already have the Body Glove from VZW and while the Seido case looks nice, I like the quick-release belt clip because I have a makeshift belt clip on my dash... just snap the phone off my belt and snap it onto my dash.
  16. Apparently, the person who manages their Facebook page gets better intel. This is from a discussion there:

    Hi All,

Thanks for your patience. We will be making Defender Series, Commuter Series, Impact Series for the Incredible but at this time I do not have a timeline for release. I will make this information available when I have it.

    Thanks for your support!

Absolutely! These companies are run by morons if they think that people aren't going to move on to another company that actually DELIVERS a product within a reasonable timeframe. Noone is going to wait that long. Seriously??? How much development goes into designing a case. It's just a case for god's sake! Months? What are they designing that takes months? I call B.S.!!!

If it is a small company it probably will take some time. Unlike most cell phones, that are released to these companies months before release, the Incredible was kept extremely quiet. Otterbox has to go through many templates and designs until they find one that works well, and then they have to configure their equipment to produce the case. All this in addition to their current production.

I would never use Otterbox for casual use... however I would like to have one for when I am in the woods backpacking and such. I am patient enough to wait, already have a case for day-to-day use.

What are the differences between Defender, Commuter, and Impact?
  21. whiskeyguy

Here are the cases for the iPhone, so you can get an idea of the difference. Essentially it's heavier duty to lighter duty. The Defender is nearly a perfect seal, meaning it blocks out almost all dust or other contaminates. It's not waterproof... but may provide you with that precious few seconds you need to save your phone if you drop it in the water.

I had the commuter for my droid. Honestly the perfect case. My cousin had the defender for his storm and the thing was insanely bulky

Thanks for the link and info guys. I'm thinking Defender case as well. Only problem will be I will most likely be keeping the extended battery. But will still want protection for the phone gosh!
