Well, I'm already on FRF83 and people have said there's not much of a difference.

So as it's so close I'm waiting for the novelty value of getting it OTA.

    Hah, fair enough.

I've installed 6 different (non custom) versions of Android on my phone, and not one as been OTA. Maybe one day I'll downgrade back to ERE27 just to see what it's like :D

*sigh* News like this always brings me running back to the android forums.

Someone nudge me when a UK-er receives theirs. I may be developing RSI from locking and unlocking my phone. And at this rate, if I do get the update whilst at work I won't have any battery left ;)

You don't still have an aversion to manually updating do you? :p

I hate this waiting! When I had an iPhone at least I knew when the updates were available... this unknown ota arrival is certainly developing my waiting skills! LOL

    Can't wait for froyo! :)

I couldn't wait any longer, so I went for the manual update from ERE27 to FRF85B, pretty painless I would say :D

Ouchies. Bad luck guys. I am still waiting too... people at work are proper taking the mick now as they're all iPhone lovers and I started getting excited about the update round about the time of the I/O conference... Every time my phone beeps or the trackball flashes I get a little ripple of hope, but alas.

@DHEvans - my phone's battery is a brute. As long as it has at least a bar of signal, it'll last from 6am til 6am the next morning. But I plug in overnight anyway :)

@Rusty - yes. The thought of messing with my phone, even in an appropriate manner, makes me feel sicky. Plus, right, get this... the anticipation of the update is all part of the Android experience... or something...

Whilst it's always cloak and dagger stuff with companies about updates and I wish they would be a bit more vocal....I'm happy to wait (Vodafone here).

I bought my phone back in March directly from Google (still not received my vat bill yet :) ) but I have a vodafone sim in it; does that mean I have to wait for vodafone to mess with the settings? Or will I get ota from Google?

You shouldn't have to wait for Vodafone.

Have you done any other manual updates or is your build number still ERE27?

    Still on ere27.
I'm out of the country at the in oman so unlikely to receive anything here! But back in UK next week.
If I don't receive any ota within a few days of returning I'll go the manual option.

I thought it was too good to be true. I handed back an HTC Legend for that reason (and a wifi problem). I hoped the nexus one would give me OTA updates direct from Google - not Google >> HTC >> Vodafone = several months in the case of the Legend... more like Google >> Vodafone = several weeks then?

Aw well, I suppose I'll wait and see.

    Thanks.

Not entirely happy but I understand that Vodafone have to protect themselves by checking the update over and making sure it doesn't cause any adverse effects for it's customer base. Imagine how it would look if the other carriers had no problems and Vodafone did!

Having said that...waiting patiently here on EPF21B stock.

Well I couldn't wait any longer and after the recent comments about Vodafone enforced changes to Froyo I upgraded from EFP21B to Froyo this afternoon.

All straightforward and painless thanks to the numerous guides on the web. I had to unlock the bootloader and flash a different ROM, but all in it only took 30 minutes or so - would have been much quicker if I wasn't triple checking each step!

So far so good and the new features, such as chrome to phone and bluetooth voice dialling are great!

I'm now considering this also. As gingerbread (3.0) is supposedly out q4 this year I reckon with vodafones shenanigans it'll be q1 2011 before our nexus ones get it. So I may as well root.

So is there no way to manually update to froyo without rooting? From stock ere27.
Either way it's looking like a very tempting.
Anyone experience any post rooting problems on uk phones?
