If ERE27 is the stock build then you'll have no trouble manually updating to FRF85B.

As for rooting, there are no problems on the UK phones, they are identical (hardware wise) to the US ones.

Does anyone else have the same double posting problems as me!every time I post a message it tells me there is an error and to retry in 15 secounds... so I do and then look like a ****** as my message appears for the second time! Annoying!
And no I will not be hitting the repost button after this message even if it tells me to!

I downloaded the update on my stock ere27 at work, renamed it and installed it. No need to root.:)

    Cheers rusty,
But wasn't to worried about hardware issues as I ordered directly from Google; more interested in network issues. Especially as I'm with vodafone and they have just stated they will be releasing the update ota in a few weeks once they have optimised settings. Is this just them trying to restrict what we can do or is this a potential issue?
Personally I don't see it as an issue as I was using my n1 on the network before they supported it. If this is the case I think it maybe foolish to wait for vodafone update, as it gives them chance to modify it how they wish (restrictive use?)
    Maybe I'm over thinking it...

If you bought your phone from Google, what Voda do is not only irrelevant to you, it wont work on your phone anyway.

You phone worked perfectly on Voda before Froyo, it will continue to do so after, just like mine.

With a US imported, sim-free model in the UK, my network is irrelevant in the process right? Updates will just be based on when Google push it?

    Ok thanks rusty.
Think as soon as I get back to the UK I will manually update, not sure I can see the point of waiting for ota update, especially as wifi tethering is a real plus for me!

This is RIDICULOUS! I have been 'checking in' 4 times a day since the update was mentioned. Nothing. NOTHING. Uggggggggggggggggggh.

edit: no, sorry, I am calm.

How do you check in? I've bought a N1 from Google and am on T Mobile UK and I haven't had a notification yet. This is frustrating!

*sob* *sob* I keep doing that even though I'm on Vodafone. I'm not expecting to see an update but every now and then I try anyway!

Sometimes it jumps up and says "Update Available" - when I click it my heart sinks as I am taken to the Market to update an App I have installed *cry*

I manually updated to FRF85B but decided to wait for this OTA as I never have done before.

I have a replacement motherboard with new IMEI though so guess I'm near the end of the queue...

That's not how it works. I know various people that have got their OTA updates already, and I'm still waiting despite getting my phone months earlier!
