I can't believe I'm inquiring about this device as I swore I wouldn't buy another Samsung after the VZW Galaxy Nexus nightmare I went through.

Can anyone who actually had a VZW Gnex (and believes it was a faulty device) weigh in on the reliability of signal with VZW's Note 2?

The signal with Verizon on the note 2 is the best I have ever had. Nexus, Motorola, s3, charge, htc. This phone wins hands-down. I even get signal in my underground basement. The s3 and nexus had no signal there. Amazing penetration, even in a hospital. I highly recommend this phone.

I went through the Nexus hell and returned that phone in 3 days for a RAZR. This phone is every bit as good if not better than the motorola phone.

I get signal everywhere. No issues.

The signal on this phone is better than the gnex and s3 and at least on par with my old droid razr. You'll notice this is the first forum for a Samsung phone without a signal reception thread with hundreds of responses lol

For my exact area, my note 2 gets better reception than my maxx.

I agree with everyone else. I didn't have a Gen Nex, came from a Droid X. Motorolas have some of the best radios out there so I was also a little concerned going to another manufacturer. But...

ABSOLUTELY no regrets here. Both the cell & wifi radios work much better than any phone my family has ever owned!

Thank you everyone. I was afraid of getting blasted for speaking ill of the Galaxy Nexus. I have to admit I am very tempted by this device.

Again thanks for the serious answers. And the point about a Samsung phone board without a thread with 100 replies is extremely on point. That's why I had to start this one! lol

Note 2's reception is excellent. Better than all my other Verizon phones.

I've had the Gnex, S3 and now the N2 and the N2 has the best signal out of all of them. My S3 always had -102 dBm or less.

I came from the Verizon Gnex to the Note 2. It's a night/day difference (in every aspect including reception). I work in a strong 4G area, but in my building at my desk, my Gnex would only pick up a weak 3G or sometimes 1x signal while I saw everyone else around me (with Razr's and one with a Charge) with 4G in the same spot. I had another friend that worked near me with the Gnex too and he experienced the same weak reception. I also experienced random data connection drops with the Gnex. I could be outside with full 4G signal, then my phone would drop data connection for no reason right in the middle of streaming or downloading something. I would still have full bars, but no 1x/3G/4G next to the indicator. This didn't happen a whole lot, but at least a couple times a week.

My Note 2 has had none of these issues in the last month that I've had it. I get 2-3 bars of 4G at my desk every time I return to it and I have not had it drop data connection at all. It's really crazy how good this phone is in just about every aspect. I promise you, that this phone will not be giving you any of the same issues that you had with your Gnex.

This is all good to hear folks. You all made me a believer. Now I need to decide how to get one and keep my unlimited data.

    Great feedback all.
