Volume and vibration are weak. I thought I had read somewherethat u could do something to make it ring louder but now I cant find it.

Speaker volume when listening to podcast is way lower than on my previous Incredible. I was using the HBO GO app and I had to put my ear near the phone just to hear the dialogue, at full volume. And one of the reasons I bought the phone was what was supposed to be a beefed up speaker on the back. Was hoping the update would fix it, but not even addressed.

If you pop open the kickstand it helps a little. Also experiment with how you cradle the phone in your hand, if you are holding it, as if you make the right shape with your hand above the speaker you can create a slight amplification of the sound. You can also look into getting some 3.5 mm speakers you can use the ones that don't plug into the wall or you can use some old computer speakers for a louder sound with amplification done by the speaker. If you use computer speakers turn down the media volume on the phone to preserve sound quality.

i'm mostly concerned with the ringer volume. if i'm listening to music or watching videos its usually plugged into another speaker so it doesn't bother me then.

i thought i had read somewhere that there was a way to make the phone ring louder but maybe i was just dreaming or something

I think there is something you can do if you are rooted. Or I'm just imagining something over at XDA, try poking around over there. The little speaker on the back of the phone is laughable, back when I had the LG V my speakers were much louder.

OK, I feel like I'm living in the twilight zone here compared to what some of you are experiencing. I purchased my TB about 9 days ago. My previous Incredible had good volume--a much stronger ringer than my previous phones and my wife's Droid 2. My Thunderbolt is way, way louder than either.

Yeah, but unlike the V, you dont get the obligatory right speaker death after one phone call on speakerphone. lol. I loved that damn phone though. Imagine the V with a bigger/better screen, Android and a better set of speakers.
