If you pop open the kickstand it helps a little. Also experiment with how you cradle the phone in your hand, if you are holding it, as if you make the right shape with your hand above the speaker you can create a slight amplification of the sound. You can also look into getting some 3.5 mm speakers you can use the ones that don't plug into the wall or you can use some old computer speakers for a louder sound with amplification done by the speaker. If you use computer speakers turn down the media volume on the phone to preserve sound quality.
i'm mostly concerned with the ringer volume. if i'm listening to music or watching videos its usually plugged into another speaker so it doesn't bother me then.
i thought i had read somewhere that there was a way to make the phone ring louder but maybe i was just dreaming or something
go under settings>sound>Volume and see where your settings are.
I think there is something you can do if you are rooted. Or I'm just imagining something over at XDA, try poking around over there. The little speaker on the back of the phone is laughable, back when I had the LG V my speakers were much louder.
