Proud Mac owner and user.
Proud Android owner and user.
No more mystified than iPhone owners who prefer PCs. Actually, that is even more mystifying to me.
I have a MacBook Pro but love my Droid. I had the iPhone for all of two weeks but couldn't part with Verizon. What was at first a "best alternative" has become a preferred piece of hardware. The iPhone in its current form could not pull me away from my Droid, even if carriers were not an issue.
Mac lover since 1993, and I'd never give up my Droid for an iPhone even if the iPhone were on Verizon.
Mac owner.... 8 years now and you couldn't GIVE me a PC. Had the ipone and LOVED it....
Simple answer..... AT&T. Maybe one of the worst companies I've EVER delt with. HORRIBLE!
No. Next topic...
People can use whatever they desire.
MacBook Pro and Droid!
I would probably try an iPhone if it came to Verizon, but I know I'd end up back with the Droid in a minute.
huh? what a goofy postulation.
not my problem that Apple and VZW couldn't work out. I waited... and waited.. and then waited.. and waited some more and finally, it was time to get on with it and get a modern phone. Droid was it. what can you do? switch to ATT.. bw ha ha haa ha.. yeah right!
this is coming from a tried and true, 20+ year dedicated Mac user making a living off a mac and looking at 5 macs and 3 ipods right now.
but.. I had to make a move into the 21st century.
i guess i am leet? I have linux and a droid
Internet high five! Desktop Linux + Android user here as well.
There are certain companies I won't buy into because of the way they treat customers:
- Apple because they send C&D's to anyone that tries to do anything Steve Jobs didn't say they could do and rejected GV from the Market. I have an iPod Touch and I think it's a boring piece of crap; the iPhone is basically just that with a phone radio.
- Creative because they treat Linux users like shit and users that try to make their products work as advertised on Vista even worse. I have an X-Fi XtremeGamer but it's the last Creative product I'll ever have.
- Ubisoft because of what they did to Assassin's Creed 2 on PC in terms of DRM.
So yes, I guess I'm mystified by the combination. The most closed desktop OS with the most open mobile OS?
I own 2 MBP's, a iMac, and a Mac Mini. I'm currently staring at a 27" Apple display and using a Apple keyboard, on a W7/OS X/Ubuntu tri-boot config. I also own a iPad and have had countless iPod's. Android for life though, no iPhone for me.
Guess what most of your favorite Android dev's use for a OS? That's right, OS X, and most of them have the Apple hardware too and not just a hackintosh.
I am an avid Apple convert, use a Macbook Pro and completely ABHOR pc's. In a lot of ways, my Droid reminds me of using a PC because of its occasional erratic behaviors -- something that just does not happen in my experiences with ALL Apple products -- and because of these erratic behaviors, if iPhone came to Verizon, I would ditch my Droid in a heartbeat.
That said, I do love many aspects of my Droid (user removable batteries, customization, physical keyboard), but I cannot tolerate days like today when my Droid got stuck in a boot loop for an hour and a half. This is very much PC-like behavior, and I gave that up almost 2 years ago when I got my Macbook Pro.
Wow, I am ENVIOUS! I wish I had all the Apple gadgets like that. Seriously - what a collection, dude!
In 1996 I had one of those Apple Newtons... way ahead of its time and wish I still had it.
MacBook user here. Had a 867MHz Powerbook G4 before it. Lover of Android and Mac at the same time. But I would never ever trade my Droid for an iPhone, even if the iPhone came to Verizon.
I have a Mac Book pro. I thought that was awesome till CRPercodani had to brag
A boot loop is PC-like behavior? I can leave my Linux box on for weeks at a time without any issues, I can install and uninstall whatever I want without it getting all clogged up, and it's my choice as to what I will do with the machine, not Steve Jobs' choice.
Besides that second point, the same holds true with Windows.
I would ditch mine too. I love Droid, but it just doesn't compare to iPhone for me. I text way more than I call and this virtual and physical keyboard are just behind, iphone multitouch is far superior. iTunes app store is better, with better apps. Droid is nice and has some featuers iphone doesnt, but I'm sick of the weird things it does like force close and delete all my texts quite frequently.
I was referring to erratic behavior in general, using today's boot loop as an example. I do agree with you though, Linux is more stable than Windows.
Edit: After re-reading your response again, I'm not really sure what you mean by "Besides that second point, the same holds true with Windows". If you mean that Windows has erratic behaviors, I wholeheartedly agree with that. If you're implying that Windows can be left on for weeks at a time while installing and uninstalling whatever you want, I would say that is entirely inaccurate and misleading... unless you're installing / uninstalling Microsoft-created software and not using your Windows system very much in between. Anytime you go installing/uninstalling 3rd party software on a Windows OS you're asking for major problems.
The MBP 15 is for work, 13.3 is for personal, iMac is for the kitchen, Mini is my son's. My (brand spanking new) desktop has a i7 980X, 256GB OCZ Z-Drive(for os'), 2 1TB HDD's and a XFX HD 5870 is pushing the cinema display. I love tax returns.

Proud droid owner and mac user. Macbook pro. I love both. Never windows again. Maybe linux, it seems like a good option.

I don't want to live in North Korea.
You making us all jealous.
What style MBP do you have? I got mine about 2+1/2 years ago right before the first unibodys came out. Its all aluminum as opposed to the black keys and bevel. Still works like its brand new.
Thats quite the Macpro you have. Couldnt help but notice it seems to veer off the options list. Did you add the video card and SSD? Is the SSD pci? cause I cant find any sata versions of OCZ SSD's
Not as mystifying as people who buy Android phones and then want their yahoo account to be responsible for everything the phone does (mail, calendar, etc).
It's not a macpro, my neighbour built it for me I just supplied the parts. My work MBP is about 2 years old, the 13.3 is about 4 months old.
